Now, the backstory is that Tarr are a combination of all the genes of the slimes/plorts it ate, and mutating feline slime genes is a side effect of being cured.A young slime rancher who came light years away from earth to make her mark on the Far, Far Ranch.The original backstory was that feline slimes mutated their genes because of Tarr Disease, but this has been proven false by the existence of Saber Slimes.These slimes are the size of a Tarr, you can only comfortably fit two in a corral.Shimmer Slimes cannot become largos, nor can slimes become Shimmer largos, so you are safe keeping them with other slimes.Never leave them alone in a corral with no food, as they get hungry quite fast and go feral after only one day of hunger!.
Shimmer Slimes are very dangerous when feral, so do not handle them or collect their plorts during fog.Make sure that you have a way to shelter your slimes from rain, because they don't fit in slime holes and can't shelter themselves unless they have access to the Grotto.Keep your Shimmer Slimes away from Aqua Slimes and Bird Slimes! Shimmer plorts are useful as a basic compound for medicine and sterilizers, as the substance in it is toxic to a surprising amount of bacterial strains. They can also easily escape or grab things with their long tail, and will be able to hunt any Aqua or Bird slime that they can find. They become feral after one day of hunger, and they also become feral if they are exposed to water or rain, not to mention that water actually hurts them. Shimmer Slimes, while usually docile, get angry rather easily. They are the only known slime that is immune to the effects of the Fae Hen, and it is believed that the toxicity in their slime is also toxic to the bacteria that causes the Bewitched disease. These slimes are made of a substance that is toxic to the Tarr Disease bacteria, curing infected slimes and Half-Tarrs and killing Tarrs. Like all feline slimes, they love aqua slimes, but they are hurt by water and use their long tail to reach them. Shimmer Slimes are a strange combination of Tarr and various feline slimes.
